Darren Crothers
Darren, now living in Bendigo, studied Fine Art at the Julian Ashton Art School, Sydney, under the tutelage of artists such as Francis Giacco, Nigel Thomson and Paul Delprat. Darren won the prestigious Brett Whiteley scholarship. In 1996 he became a teaching assistant to Francis Giacco whilst studying with Graeme Inson, the protégé of the tonal impressionist Max Meldrum. After returning to Bendigo, Darren has been a recipient of the Alice Bale Travelling Scholarship and a finalist in the Archibald.
