BAS Trip to Port Fairy October 2014
The excitement was high when 10 BAS members and 4 friends of BAS gathered at Port Fairy on the last week of October for the annual trip away. The location filled expectations. The combination of wild sea and rocks, river scenes with boats and old homes framed by Norfolk pines couldn’t have been more different from our usual central Victorian subjects. A visit to the nearby volcanic crater “Tower Hill” also provided an additional contrasting aspect to the area. Although the weather wasn’t always agreeable, our group managed to rise to the challenge and create some beautiful artworks; the day’s work being reviewed in the evening during drinks and the evening meal. There was much concern, however, when our team mascot Toby was injured, but great relief when he came through it ok. And then when it was time to leave the trip was deemed a great success by all who went.
