I have been drawing all of my life and my
passion has been portraiture. At the age of 40' I finally had the opportunity to
attend La Trobe University Bendigo where I completed a Bachelor of Education
majoring in Art. My mentor was the late Brian Clemson. I was Dux of this course. Since then I have taught art to children,
and been a mentor to adult artists. I
have studied oils with Darren Crothers, watercolour in Italy and Greece with
Terry Jarvis, and recently, acrylic painting with Andy Russell in Spain. As a member
of the Bendigo Art Society I have enjoyed learning at workshops and through
association with many talented members.
I have sold paintings, but my passion is to
paint for the pure enjoyment of the experience. My other passion is photography
for which I have received many valuable awards and the honour of having my
works selected twice at the Bendigo Art Gallery’s Works on Paper. My style has been referred to as eclectic
because I get an idea or use a medium and create a work, which I have run with.
Hence, anything may happen, and that’s the fun side of being an artist.
